Research
Interests:
- Materials physics & Chemistry.
- Synthesis of novel inorganic & organic molecules using non – conventional methods.
- Opto – electronics based on organic semiconductors.
- Magneto – optics.
Work and Research Experience:
Synthesis and characterization of benzthiazoles
based materials for Opto - electronic device applications:
(a) Synthesis: Benzthiazole based new
molecular materials are synthesized based on conventional as well as microwave synthesis of organic molecules. Microwave approach
offers a new solvent free synthesis of benzthiazoles based materials in high yields with good stereo specificity.
(b) Characterization: Interesting photo
- physical properties have been demonstrated in benzthiazoles based ethylene stereoisomers. This is the first demonstration
where in white light photo and electro luminescent has been demonstrated based on the stereo specificity of the molecules.
Synthesis
and Characterization of magnetic & ceramic oxides for memory devices:
(a) First demonstration in 2D manganites where in we show the increase in Metal – insulator and Curie
temperature.
(b) Quick MICROCOM synthesis of meta stable cobalt doped gamma – iron oxide for recording purpose, which
resulted in a patent.
(c) Hydrothermal Synthesis of pyrochlore oxides for ceramic and luminescent properties.
